Ever since I can remember, I’ve always dreaded my lashes – or rather, the lack of lashes. Tried every trick in the book, spent a fortune on “magic serums” but with barely any success. It wasn’t until a year ago that I’ve finally seen some significant changes to my lashes, and no I’m not talking about lash extensions.
Let me share with you some tried and tested ways you too can grow your lashes:
1. Apply castor oil or coconut oil on your lashes.
Castor oil and coconut oil are helpful in nourishing your lashes, stimulating growth and keeping them strong and healthy. The stronger and healthier your lashes are, the more likely they’ll grow.
2. Go easy on them.
Don’t use lash curlers and falsies because these things will only worsen the situation. The adhesives will cause what little lashes you may have to fall off.
3. Try Latisse or other lash growth serum.
I must admit, I’ve tried half a dozen lash growth products and the only thing that really worked for me was Latisse. It works by lengthening the amount of time each lash follicle stays in the growth phase. Apply the serum twice a day on clean lashes for best results.
As a side note, always check the ingredients that a lash growth serum may have to ascertain safety and efficacy. Many have harmful ingredients that could damage your lashes and your eyes.
4. Try a lash lift.
Also referred to as a lash perm, this is a chemical solution that will work on the base to the tip of each lash, curl and darken it, and make it appear fuller. It’s a pain-free process and it really works as well.
5. Apply Vitamin E oil.
Vitamin E contains tocotrienol which stimulates hair growth. You can apply it using a brush or consume it in the form of supplements.
6. Brush your lashes often.
Brushing your lashes will keep it from breaking. It will stimulate oil production to nourish your lashes and strengthen them.
7. Dab some green tea.
Green tea is rich with antioxidants, caffeine and panthenol to soothe and hydrate your lashes and boost growth. You can lightly soak a cotton pad on a bowl of green tea and gently dab it over your lashes.
8. Take biotin supplements.
Biotin strengthens and protects hair and it’ll work on your lashes too. Take biotin supplements to encourage hair growth and hydrate your lashes. The results may take a while to be noticeable but as long as you take your supplements regularly, you’ll have longer and thicker lashes soon.
If nothing works, you can always consider the idea of getting lash extensions at Amazing Lash Studio. Just make sure you go to an experienced and licensed esthetician so your natural lashes won’t be in jeopardy.
